This is an episode we never wanted to make. In MT29, we're pulling the plug on our epic Jaguar XK8 manual swap using the Aston Martin Vanquish T56 Tremec gearbox. 💔 It's a sad day, but we've had to make a tough call based on the overwhelming time, effort, and cost involved. Watch as we reveal what went wrong and why we're not continuing with the original build.
But all is not lost! We're pivoting the project and moving forward with a new, more feasible plan. We'll be using the ZF S6-53 6-speed transmission from a Jaguar S-Type 2.7-liter turbo diesel. In this video, we explain the reasons behind this change of direction, why this new gearbox is a better fit, and how we believe it will make the project quicker and easier to complete.
