Yoshi's New Island Playthrough Part 1

Also known as Yoshi's New Kazoo.

This Playthrough will show the game 100% with all Stars, Red Coins, and Flowers in each stage. If I fail to get every Star in a stage, I'll do it off-screen. Unlike the original and DS, you don't have to get everything in one run. If you get every item in the group (like all Red Coins), you don't have to do it again. If I get everything else, but fail to get the Stars, I'll do it off-screen. It will just be a no damage run of the stage anyway.

In this part, we begin World 1.

These are the stages in this part:

World 1-1: Little Eggs, Big Eggs: This stage is pretty simple. It introduces you to the game's mechanics and introduces Mega Eggdozers, which can be used to destroy the landscape for 1ups. Stars are scarce here, but the Red Coins and Flowers are easy to get.

World 1-2: Chomp Rock 'n' Roll: It wouldn't be a Yoshi game without Chomp Rocks. As you'd expect, you have to push Chomp Rocks to get rid of enemies and hazards. They can also be used as stepping stones to find new areas and items. The minecart form is also introduced here.

World 1-3: Cave of the Nipper Plants: This stage, as the name implies, has Nipper Plants as its main hazard, but I find the random nukes more threatening. Keep in mind that you need to kill some of the Piranha Plants for the Red Coins.

World 1-4: Fort Bucket Booby Trap: This fortress stage has buckets that contain goodies, such as Coins, Stars, and even springs. The lava's your main threat here. Collecting everything, again, isn't too hard. The boss you fight here is Kamek. Yep, the first time in the series where you actually fight Kamek. He's quite pathetic, even more so than Burt the Bashful and the Burt Bros. Just drop a few nukes on his head to beat him.
