Aaj Rang Hai by Farah Yasmeen Shaikh and musical collaborators

A musical rearrangement based on the poetry of the great Hazrat Amir Khusro, and sung by some of South Asia's greatest vocalists. The artists humbly recomposed and choreographed the piece as a dance and music video, indicative of the times artists are currently living through as result of the Covid-19 global pandemic.

In November 2020, Noorani Dance premiered the Heartistry Video Series, of which this dance and music video was a part of. Heartistry Video Series will include at least 4 new episodes per year under the artistic direction of Farah Yasmeen Shaikh. We will at times return to past live performances and when possible, even create anew, seeking to reimagine our work as artists during this new normal as a catalyst for collaboration, creativity, and conversation.

Episode 1: Creativity, Collaboration & Community, explored the behind the scenes of the unique methods currently being utilized to execute innovative artistic projects - through reflections and sentiments expressed by the artists, an engaging conversation on creative collaboration during the pandemic, the premiere of our dance-music video, Aaj Rang Hai, and a real time interactive Q&A for the audience and the artists.
