Sabudana Chilla (also spelled Sabudana Cheela)
a delicious Indian fasting dish made from
sabudana (tapioca pearls), potatoes, and spices.
Here’s a simple recipe for it
Sabudana Chilla Recipe:
Ingredients:
Sabudana (sago/tapioca pearls) - 100 gms
Potato boiled and mashed - 1 big
Coriander leaves, chopped - 2 tsp
Carrot Greater - 1/2 cup
Red chili powder - 1 tsp
Black pepper powder 1 tsp
Peanuts - 1/2 cup
Cumin seeds (jeera) - 1 tsp
Green chilles - 2
Ginzer - 1 piece
Rice Flour - 2 tsp
Curd - 2 tsp
Rock salt (sendha namak) – to taste
Oil or ghee – for cooking
Instructions:
Soak sabudana:
Wash and soak sabudana in just enough water
for 4–5 hours (or overnight). Drain any excess
water afterward.
Make the mixture:
In a mix soaked sabudana mix well and keep aside.
Take 1/4 cup peatnuts roast it and make powder
keept it aside.
Take a bowl put mashed potato add salt red chilipowder,
black pepper powder, cumin seeds, chopped carrot,
groundnut powder, chopped green chilies
mix well add rice flour, curd , water and finally add
sabudana batter mix well.
Cook:
Heat a non-stick pan or tawa with a little oil .
Carefully place the chilla on it and cook on medium flame
until golden brown and crisp on both sides.
Green Chutney:
Take a mixe jar add ginzer, green chilie, coriander leaves
salt mix well then add roasted ground nuts (peanuts)
add little bit water.
Serve:
Serve hot with green chutney.
