Celestion V-Type 16ohm vs Celestion Creamback G12H-75 16ohm.
Signal Chain:
Guitars/Pedaloard/Marshall DSL40CR/Shure SM58/Presonus Audiobox iTwo/Presonus Studio One.
Guitars:
Fender MIM Standard Telecaster (with Porter 9T pickups)
Fender Player II Stratocaster (stock pickups)
Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Standard (Burstbucker 2&3)
My Thoughts:
The Creamback sounds much more refined to me. I could have leveled the volumes of the audio clips better, and the Creamback may have benefitted slightly from moving the mic closer to the center of the speaker to pick up more "bite".
In the room the Creamback doesn't sound all too different from the V-Type, but it has a tighter and punchier bass response, the treble is smoother, and it have a very nice boost in the lower, vocal-sounding midrange.
The Creamback basically turned this amp into what I wished it had been from the factory.
