The Silent Battle in the Village: Bahman's Effort to Complete His Second Wife's Dream House

In the midst of a new but difficult day, two nomadic families stand at a point where their lives could suddenly be turned upside down. The engineer, a man once renowned for his wealth and generosity, is now in a situation where he is struggling to provide even the bread of today for his family; complete bankruptcy, the halt in the construction of his second wife's house, and debts that are tightening his throat every moment, force him to make one of the most painful decisions of his life. With eyes heavy with shame and deep heartache, Bahman is forced to sell their only valuable asset — the jewelry of Parvaneh, the engineer's first wife — in order to settle the debts and provide food for the family for a few days. Although this small amount of money gives the family a short-term boost, the scar of this choice remains in the hearts of all of them. However, the engineer begins his day with a shaky hope, asking the workers and the employer for time to resume construction of the house and perhaps rebuild his life.

On the other side of the village, the Ghoncheh family begins the day with a hidden apprehension. The possibility of the return of Fattah’s second wife—a woman whose presence has always disturbed the peace of the house—hangs over them like a heavy shadow. They try to complete their unfinished house as quickly as possible, to provide themselves with a safe haven before this woman arrives and the tensions begin again. The village is full of whispers, pressure, a race against time, and a silent battle between hope and fear; a battle that each family fights in its own way, awaiting the fate of tomorrow.
