Disneyland | 45 Years of Magic Parade (Parade of the Stars)

For Disneyland’s 45th anniversary celebration in 2000, a new parade debuted for the occasion. The “45 Years of Magic Parade” featured some of your favorite Disney friends, as well as guest participation. About 70 guests would be chosen each day to perform in the parade and would wear tutus and animal hats during each performance. The parade remained after the 45th anniversary and was renamed “Parade of the Stars”. The parade lasted until 2005 when it was replaced by “Walt Disney’s Parade of Dreams” which debuted for the park’s 50th anniversary.


Fun Fact:
For the first few months of the parade, the parade used “Pomp and Circumstance” from Fantasia 2000. This song is often heard at graduation and commencement ceremonies and was replaced later with a musical score composed by Bruce Healey featuring a compilation of various Disney songs.
