I finally got this massive red oak log dragged up to the sawmill, ready to make lumber on the Wood Mizer... but Mother Nature had other plans.
What started as a regular milling day turned into something completely different. I had to postpone this one because of a mother bird and her chicks who had taken up residence in the sawmill. I've got a soft spot for birds, so I left her with it. In this video, I walk you through the log moving process, show the scale of this incredible piece of red oak, and explain why the mill had to shut down before it ever fired up.
