I used to talk about my plans a lot.
“I’m gonna fix my books this weekend.”
“I’m finally gonna organize my finances next month.”
“I just need to sit down and go through everything.”

Saying it made me feel like I was doing something about it, but nothing was actually getting done.
And I didn’t realize it then, but my brain was getting that little dopamine hit just from talking about it, like I already accomplished it.
Wild, right?

Meanwhile… the receipts kept piling up.
Expenses weren’t tracked.
I had no clue what I was actually profiting.
And tax season? Pure chaos.

What finally changed things for me was doing the boring stuff.
Opening up QuickBooks.
Looking at the real numbers.
Setting up a system that worked for my actual schedule.

It wasn’t perfect at first.
But once I got past the part where I kept planning and started doing, I finally felt like I had control over my business, not the other way around.

So if you’ve been saying “I’ll fix my books soon,”
or “I just need to figure it out after this launch,”
maybe this is your sign to stop saying and start doing.

Your numbers won’t figure themselves out.
But you can figure them out with the right system.
