In this video, I demonstrate the main ways to play on
Timbales of Bomba, Conga Comparsa and Cha-Cha-Cha rhythms.
The right hand usually plays the main rhythmic pattern on
cowbell, and left hand plays fill-in in timbales
larger size, emphasizing the bass drum part or
bass. In loud music, such as Latin-Rock, you can play this part with a stick instead of your fingers. Sometimes the left hand can play the part of Clave or second cowbell, which gives additional color to the music.
