Wondering how to keep baby warm in the car seat? While winter coats and extra layers add warmth, they also add extra bulk between your child and their harness straps. More space means those harness straps could slide off the shoulders and your child risks being ejected from their car seat.
Before it’s go-time, test out your kiddo’s winter gear to see if it passes the coat test. If it does, it’s safe to be worn under the harness. Be sure to test all bulky clothing items that your little one might wear in the car seat. If it doesn't pass the winter coat car seat test, you can always drape it over your child after they're safely in their tightened harness.
