Another adventure in Florida Bay / Everglades National Park out of Flamingo Marina.
Icy, Jeff and I head out into Florida Bay on Jeff's first trip out on the KW. It was a hot, windy, slow day of fishing. We hit three locations and had minimal action at the first and third, and no action at the second. On this trip, we were fishing with artificial lures only.
The overwhelming majority of the action came from jacks. They seemed to be the only fish with an interest and while on the hook, kept our excitement elevated until they were identified. As the new comer often does, Jeff was the one who was catching most of the fish. He was the star of the day when he boated an in-slot red. Icy pulled in an undersized snook and a couple jacks, and I caught a short trout and a jack. We put in a lot of work on this long day with not a lot to show for it. Even so, it was a fun day out amongst friends.
Thanks for coming along on another of my fishing adventures.
Wishing everyone bent rods and tight lines,
~Jim
