It's been a little bit now since the Ransomware Attacks that held thousands of Asustor NAS devices hostage. You either had to pay up and pray your data was released or wipe your NAS and start over. I had to do the latter and restore from my BackBlaze account. I still lost data.
Now I'm gonna show you a few things I'm doing to protect my network from future attacks while still maintaining the ability to access my NAS from anywhere using a dedicated IP from Private Internet Access or PIA as some call them.
