During this particular visit, there appeared to be a fault with the track circuits on the northbound line resulting in the crossing remaining active for a further 2 minutes after northbound trains had passed before it eventually timed out. This has since been fixed however.
In the third video, two trains are seen in one lowering and, because of the faulty track circuit on the northbound line, the crossing remained down for a good 20 or so seconds before the southbound train struck in, resulting in the ‘ATC’ circuits to activate - if there wasn’t a fault with the track circuits the crossing would’ve deactivated immediately after the first train before lowering again for the second train.
In the lowering after the third video, two trains also passed in the same lowering with, yet again, a northbound train passing first (again, the barriers remained down), followed by a southbound train about two minutes later. Rather bizarrely, the ‘ATC’ circuits didn’t activate until the second train passed, although I didn’t catch this on video unfortunately.
