History Channel’s historical fantasy drama "Vikings" is a hit series that has spanned six seasons and will spawn a sequel series on Netflix called "Vikings: Valhalla." It is highly entertaining, though it does take liberties with historical facts to progress its story forward. It is a historical fantasy series, after all, and shows like "Vikings" are not noted for getting history right. We have been accustomed to assuming that movies and television shows don't rely on historical facts to entertain their viewers, but bend them to create gripping scenes to keep us hooked.
