Well, we did it! We had been looking for a bigger vehicle for our family camping trips; our minivan was just too cramped for our family of five and all of our gear. After weeks of looking at full sized passenger vans and motorhomes (that may not be reliable, or were out of our price range,) we found a 2005 Chevrolet Kodiak C4500 ambulance for sale right up the street from our house that seemed too good to pass up.
I figured that before we move in and fill it full of our junk that I should document the way it looked when we bought it.
I am sure that the "Fambulance" will evolve as we travel and identify what we'd like to change, and it will be neat to look back and see where we started. Join us as we dive in to "van life" as we convert our ambulance into a mobile camping wagon.
