Making A Patchouli Infused Oil

Hello and welcome to Old Ways Gardening and Prepping. 🍀 Would like to welcome you to my backyard underneath the canopy this afternoon. Today we will be working with a very medicinal plant known as Patchouli. Yes I understand that many people do not grow it, but hopefully this video will encourage as many people as possible to start doing so. So let's talk about the medicinal benefits of Patchouli infused oil.

It is amazing how many ailments that patchouli works for and hopefully it will be known for more than just perfume, incense and as a aphrodisiac after this video. Let's delve deeper in to the healing benefits of patchouli and hopefully encourage many more to grow this amazing healing plant.

It is an antiseptic and when applied to wounds, the oil helps to prevent infection. Patchouli is actually a great treatment for people who suffer from depression, as it's calming effects help ease the feelings of loss, loneliness, anxiety, anger, disappointment, stress, and sadness. It is also well known to help anxious, nervous or high strung people to go to sleep easier. This is a main reason why the oil is so commonly used in aromatherapy. It is very well known as a astringent and helps to cause wounds to heal faster treating skin conditions such as dermatitis, acne, or dry, cracked skin as well. Patchouli contains A-Guinane, a powerful anti-inflammatory compound that reduces inflammation of the joints and muscles to provide relief from aches and pains. This is just a few of the amazing healing benefits of patchouli.
