4 Options for Kids in Home Church to Really Grow Their Faith | Matt Dabbs

The most asked question about home church is always, "What should we do with kids when our home church meets?" The same question gets asked in small group and it has been a journey coming to the approach we are using that I am going to share with you in this video!

There are four basic approaches and we have used all four. I will talk about the pros and cons and you can take this information and figure out what is best in your home church. It is not a one size fits all and some things adapt and transition over time.

Don't babysit the kids. You want to have a meaningful and intentional plan for them to grow their faith.

In our home church we default to kids being in the gathering with the adults as much as possible with some time for age appropriate instruction. Over the last 6 months we have landed on an option (option #4) that has been a tremendous blessing that I want to share with you.

This video gives a brief biblical foundation for parents discipling their kids and how the church can help supplement what is happening at home.

Whatever you do, make sure kids are supervised by adults and that the kids have been intentionally considered. This causes us to reframe the question from what do we do with kids to something more like what is the best thing we can do in the gathering to make sure our kids are growing as disciples?

That is a game changer!
