Hello friends!
Today we will talk about the great musician of Hindi cinema, who gave a new identity to Indian classical music in Bollywood – Naushad Ali.
Naushad was born on 25 December 1919 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Naushad, who was interested in music since childhood, had a deep love for traditional Indian classical music. This interest of his brought him to Mumbai, where he revolutionized the world of film music.
Music journey and famous works
Naushad entered the Hindi film industry in the 1940s and soon made his mark. His first big hit film was "Ratan" (1944), whose music album broke records in that era. After this, he gave music in many historical films like "Baiju Bawra" (1952), "Mughal-e-Azam" (1960), "Ganga Jamuna" (1961), "Mere Mehboob" (1963).
His songs are a perfect blend of Indian classical music, folk music and Sufi music. Evergreen songs like "Mohe Panghat Pe" (Mughal-e-Azam), "O Duniya Ke Rakhwale" (Baiju Bawra), "Chalo Dildar Chalo" (Pakeezah) are still in the hearts of music lovers.
Honors and Achievements
Naushad was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and Padma Bhushan for his contribution to Indian music.
Naushad's Legacy
On 5 May 2006, this great musician said goodbye to the world, but his tunes are still immortal. His musical compositions remind us of the rich tradition of Indian music.

Active in Hindi literature as a writer and poet since the 80s. Mumbai became his workplace since 1984. Translated more than a dozen technical books on insurance from English to Hindi. All translated books have been published.
On the occasion of completion of 100 years of Hindi cinema, published the famous book “Apne-Apne Chalchitra” based on interviews with famous personalities of Hindi films. After this, published “Mere Khwabon Ka Shajar” (Poetry Collection), “Kuchh Yun Bole Ehsaas” and “Kavya Ekadas” (Editing of joint poetry collection). Regular publication of works in national level magazines for the last four decades.
Writing commentary/script for more than two dozen documentaries for the Film Division of the Government of India. Awarded with National Award for the documentary “Tribal Women Artists of Chotanagpur”. Working as the Chief Sub Editor of the literary quarterly magazine “Srujanikaa” published from Mumbai and writing and publishing compositions independently on a daily basis.
