Decorah Eagle/Goose Cam ~ ALL 6 GOSLINGS HAVE HATCHED AT N1 NEST! Cuteness Overload 🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥 4.13.25

Welcome to the world six little goslings! They are bright yellow - like little rays of sunshine all fluffy and so cute! 🐥 Well done Mom & Dad Goose! Ma laid 6 eggs this season but there is an extra egg in the nest that was laid by an intruder on April 2nd. This egg is not ready to hatch and sadly will be left behind when the goslings jump off the nest.

About 24-48 hours after hatching, the goslings will take a leap of faith and jump off the nest. Both parents will call & vocalize to the goslings from the ground which prompts them all to jump one right after another! It is an amazing leap of faith to watch! The goslings are very light & will flap their wings going down and most will remarkably survive the jump due to having a high percentage of chondroid bone, a springy skeletal tissue intermediate between cartilage and bone. Thus they will bounce when they land and immediately start to follow Mom to the water! Incredible! Thank you for watching!
