AMENDMENT:
I said in the video that temperature could be adjusted in 2 degrees celsius step each time, which should be 1 instead.

Quick tests carried out for my new espresso machine, the WPM KD-310 (VPS).
The results are interesting, and gives me some insight for its performance. However, I think there are alot of other things to consider for determining whether a machine is good or not. The results are listed below:
1. Pre-heat Time Test
Results:
2 mins and 41 secs.
Conclusion:
Very fast pre-heat time for an espresso machine. However, the portafilter is definitely not heated up within this time. Please at least heat it for another 5-8 minutes for stable extraction.
2. Water Stability Test for 40 seconds (Data logged every 6 secs)
Results:
(30, 50, 65, 65, 65, 63, 61) Degrees Celcius for PID Temp set to 90oC
(30, 40, 55, 65, 66, 65, 65) Degrees Celcius for PID Temp set to 96oC
Conclusion:
Since Im using a bimetallic thermometer, the above temperatures I got are NOT the actual temperature coming out and the actual temperature is much higher. I only take the results for reference on how stable the water temperature is. The temperature coming out seems OK stable, as it remains above 60 degrees near the end, and also considering only a little amount of water is required for brewing espresso. I will have to conduct this test again with a fast response digital thermometer (which I dont have now) for a more accurate result.
3. Steam Performance Test (Steam 200g of water to 60oC):
Results:
Room Temperature: 26oC
(25 secs, 214.3g final weight) Setting at ST Duty 03
(22 secs, 219g final weight) Setting at ST Duty 07 (Max)
Conclusion:
Recommend to use middle range steam setting, such as ST Duty 03 or 04 to achieve balance in steaming time and additional water content in milk. ST Duty 07 has high water content, meaning water isnt fully vaporized in the thermoblock and I dont like to dilute my milk that much, especially if you consider milk starts at fridge temperature, which amplifies the effect even more. However, the efficiency of creating foam in milk is expected to be higher in higher steam duty settings.
