There is a Cloud of witnesses - the revival forefathers from this City of Leeds that are looking down from Heaven on this generation!
The 1927 revival that shook Leeds, was birthed through the years of praying and fasting of one old man and a 'despised Pentecostal' at that.
The primitive Methodists had revival in this city, the police had to manage the crowds on The Headrow and the 'testimony of atheism' was destroyed across the city.
Every revival throughout history has common denominators: When, even just a few people come into 'one accord' get desperate, push aside distractions, overcome the demands, pressures and inconveniences of life to put seeking Him first - as the main thing!
The more we have begun to put this into practice, the more it has become evident that much of the prayer of the New Testament Church was corporate. Yes of Course we are to have our personal prayer life! And yes the leadership of the Church has taught much on prayer, but it is now time for the leaders to pay the price and gather the people to pray!
Our revival forebearers were factory and mill workers who laboured 12 hour days, with very hard lives. They were simple, did not rely on education, but were DESPERATE for God to move.
God is calling us to return to first love, like the first love that once burned in Leeds and WILL BURN AGAIN!
Whatever is FIRST PRIORITY IS FIRST LOVE.
The priority of the modern Church has become lifestyle, 'woke' trendy causes, and self love.
These false gospel enticements actually lead to a hollow, dead empty Christless life and a Christless eternity, so there is no time like the present to return to First Love, to burn every bridge and cross the line for revival. "Revival or I die".
