German chef Paul Hoffmann happily moved to Provence with his well-adapted pre-teen son David and wife Stefanie, whose medical practice keeps them afloat until he finally opens his own restaurant. Alas, an accidental concussion suddenly, but probably temporarily, blocks Paul's vital taste and smelling sense. Stefanie's handsome German apprentice Michael's handyman skills boost the practice and his love-life. David's riding lessons put him in contact with old Markus, who is to reveal a medical secret and a family dysfunction.
