🌿 A Note on Dhikr and Music
Within the Islamic tradition, there are different scholarly views regarding the use of music alongside dhikr (remembrance of Allah).
Some scholars—particularly within the classical Sufi tradition—have permitted the use of gentle sound or music as a means to help soften the heart, increase presence, and support inner focus, as long as the remembrance itself remains central, sincere, and respectful. In this view, music is not an act of worship by itself, but a tool that may assist reflection and tranquility.
Other scholars maintain that dhikr should be practiced without any musical accompaniment, emphasizing that the remembrance of Allah is most pure when performed plainly, as it was commonly practiced in early Islamic tradition. This perspective is also deeply respected and followed by many Muslims.
Both views exist within Islamic scholarship, and each is rooted in sincere intention and reverence for Allah.
