Programmer Brings His Grandpa Back to Life | Oddly Heartwarming

Programmer and inventor Alexander Osipovich built a “consciousness simulation” of his grandfather, in the form of the Terminator. Yes, not kidding. Using Ai and Machine learning, he designed and 3d printed the T-800 robot. Receiving schematics and advice from Google, it took over 10 years in total to create and build a fully functional terminator robot. This bot can talk like his grandfather, or like John Henry, he laughs, jokes, remembers and recognizes. He learns. He can play chess, play guitar, sew with a sewing machine, and can play with the cat- adorable. Its reminiscent of Black Mirror, futuristic concepts of digital immortality- simulations of consciousness, of loved ones. Alexander worked side by side with his grandfather, so that once his grandpa died, the terminator, built with all of the digital archives and recorded conversations, would remain. Alexander thinks this could help the grieving process for those struggling with the loss of loved ones. In an oddly heartwarming twist, this dystopian scary concept turned out quite lovely. Just time for the advancements of technology around the world, the release of ChatGPT, the rising popularity of digital companions and assistants, and now... The terminator is back.
