Lamhe and Hum were the biggest winners for the night. While Lamhe bagged 5 awards out of its 13 nominations, Hum won 3 awards of its 7. The list for Lamhe included Best Film, Best Story (for Honey Irani) and Best Actress (for Sridevi) categories.
Amitabh Bachchan won the Best Actor award for Hum, which he shared with his fellow nominees like Sanjay Dutt, on stage.
The films Henna, Saudagar and Saajan won 2 awards each. Ajay Devgn won his first Filmfare Award for Phool Aur Kaante.
