Version V6a: V6a Venuri Microbubbler DIY Design, for Backyard Hobby Hydroponics, using free CAD software and a low-cost 3D printer.
Today, we're exploring a more classic venturi design - V6a (similiar to our V0, first video in the series) to generate lots of small/microbubbles. V6a was inspired by an article from Columbia, not Spain as I had thought... that you can read in it entirety at: https://revistas.udistrital.edu.co/in... - take a look - its interesting!

The goal with this series is to generate increased DO, or dissolved oxygen, for improved plant growth & survival in various size containers. These containers were used in previous years to grow hydroponic plants in a completely non-oxygenated, non-circulated water -- ie: the Kratky Method. This year, I'd like to compare adding oxygen to some of these bins and compare how this DWC style method compares to Kratky.
Microbubble, generaly classified as 1/10 mm to 1/1000 of a mm, or 100 to 1 microns. A human hair is only 0.07 mm, or 70 microns, so MBs are hard to see. The best eyes are reported to see down to only 25 microns. Generating very small bubbles and microbubbles with a low cost pump & a mini-venturi valve "micro-bubbler," theoretically should provide much more DO than standard size bubbles -- like you'd see with regular high airflow venturi aerators, or even air stones as seen in aquariums.
Over this playlist, and other videos on this channel, together we'll see how using these homemade venturi devices perform and compare; and also how plant growth, compared to previous years where they were not used, goes with their use.
So have fun following along, think, lean, share, comment, enjoy, and a big thank you in advance for Liking & Subscribing!
