It's mostly working... mostly.
The server has two interfaces. One with HTTP POST/GET URIs for the fujinet and a bare-bones TCP socket for the retro.link. The server can track multiple games (accessed by a unique ID) and can also host single player games against Stockfish. Right now the games are stored in-memory but it'd be a simple matter to add a database of games and let people spectate and playback matches.
I still have to add code to handle pawn promotion and make the UI easier to use, but I think I'll move back to my raycaster for now.
#ProMotionNG was used to make the graphics
#SGDK and #retrolink for the Sega Genesis version
#fastbasic and #fujinet for the A8 version
