This afternoon we’re heading out for a walking tour along some of Canggu’s most popular beaches — starting from Pererenan Beach, a quieter and more relaxed spot compared to the busier shores of Batu Mejan and Batu Bolong. We begin our walk here to avoid the traffic along the main road, and instead enjoy the fresh coastal breeze and open views.

From Pererenan, we cross the bridge towards Echo Beach. Today the atmosphere feels calmer than usual — perhaps because of the unpredictable weather at the end of the year, where short rain showers come and go without warning. The waves are huge as well, limiting beach activities for a while, so the area feels a little more peaceful.

We continue walking to Batu Mejan (Old Man’s) Beach, where tourists sit back and unwind, soaking up the afternoon light as the sky slowly changes colour. From there we move on to Munduk Catu Beach, the stretch between Batu Mejan and Batu Bolong. This is normally where people jog, surf, walk their dogs, play beach volleyball, sunbathe, and enjoy the open space.

Our walk ends at Batu Bolong Beach, the heart of Canggu’s afternoon and nightlife scene. This beach is always lively — from sunset to evening, the energy here is incredible. We’re lucky today, as there’s a traditional Balinese performance with music and dance happening right by the beach, a special moment to witness in Canggu.
