Star Fox 2 is an unreleased sequel to the original Star Fox. It was being developed for the SNES, but was cancelled so focus could be shifted to Star Fox 64 instead. It had a lot of really interesting and unique departures from the series that were never revisited in the series - such as a pseudo-realtime campaign with a nonlinear progression, and variations on the Arwing. Most importantly, it had two characters who never made it back into the series - Miyu, a flirty, androgynous lynx gal, and Fay, a cheerful and fashionable poodle gal. They would have been the first two women in the series, and playable ones at that!
