This little village is tucked into the mountains of Nantan, in central Kyoto Prefecture. It is just a few kilometers from Miyamacho, a popular sightseeing destination for tourists wanting to experience a taste of traditional Japanese village life, but this village does not seem to get many visitors. I walked through in mid-afternoon in early June, with water flowing here and there and freshly planted rice in the fields.
