Join me, Koby, Chris, Ed, and Ken as we travel from the East Coast of the U.S. to Andros Island, Bahamas for an unforgettable week of fly fishing for bonefish. From sight-casting across the endless sand flat around Joulters Cay to stalking single trophy bones on the west side, this trip had everything — sun, sharks, stories, and some of the smartest fish on earth.
Our adventure started with a night in Nassau, complete with a tour of the Graycliff Cigar Company, fresh cigars, bourbon, and authentic Bahamian conch chowder before island-hopping to Andros. We stayed at the oceanfront Lured Inn, where our guides — Solomon, Keith, and Randall — picked us up on the beach every morning.
One of the biggest highlights? Our private chef, Stacy “Momma Dumplin” Smith, daughter of the legendary Crazy Charlie, prepared incredible Bahamian meals each night. Fresh lobster, barracuda, yellowtail, and conch… plus stories about her father and the famous Crazy Charlie fly that changed bone fishing forever.
On the water, Andros reminded us why it’s one of the world’s premier bonefishing destinations. Huge schools of tailing fish, nerve-wracking stalks of big singles, and plenty of shark encounters kept every day exciting. One wrong step or sloppy cast? The fish were gone. When it all came together, the runs were unforgettable.
If you love saltwater fly fishing, the Bahamas, or want to understand what makes Andros so legendary, this video is for you.
