How to create a Lead Qualification Bot inside WhatsApp

Today we’re going to create our first WhatsApp Journey using Callendar.
I’ll show you all the main features of the Journey Builder so you can see what’s possible.
Here we are on Callendar’s main dashboard. The first step is to select your WhatsApp number and then click on the second option, “WhatsApp Journey Builder.”
Here I have two choices: load an existing journey or create a new one. Let’s select “Create New Journey.”
At the top of the screen, there are four options. Where it says “My New Journey,” I can switch to another existing journey. The second option is the refresh button. And here we have the option to “Save Journey” and exit.
Important: always remember to save your journey so you don’t lose your progress.
In this tutorial, we’ll simulate a journey for a fictional dental clinic called BrightSmile Dental — but of course, you can apply this same flow to any kind of business.
I simply click and drag. By double-clicking the name, I can rename the component if I prefer.
And here I have the option to add images. Just double-click to edit, and I’ll add:
“Hello! Welcome to BrightSmile Dental. Which service are you looking for?”
Now, I’ll include four buttons:
Cleaning & Check-up
Teeth Whitening
Orthodontic Braces
Implants or Prosthetics
Note: the maximum length of each button is 20 characters.
The big advantage of this feature is that each choice can be connected to a new step, allowing you to create personalized funnels.
Now we can connect each button to a new step. For example, if someone clicks “Cleaning & Check-up,” they’ll be taken to a new step.
Here, I could add a new block and set the title as “How often do you get a dental cleaning?” and then add new options below.
This feature is great for guiding users quickly and accurately to a qualification path.
Now I’ll drag the “Info Message” component.
Here I’ll add:
“Thank you! We’ve received your answers and will get in touch to schedule your appointment.”
Information messages are ideal for confirming user actions or sending announcements. They don’t require a reply and help build trust with the lead.
Now let’s add “Free Text Input.”
This function is perfect for collecting details such as name, email, or phone number.
I’ll add this element and insert:
“Please provide your name.”
The big advantage is that all responses are automatically recorded in Callendar — no risk of losing data — and you can easily export or integrate this information with your CRM or calendar.
Finally, we have the “Delay” function.
Here I can set, for example, a 2-minute or 2-hour delay between one message and the next.
If I don’t want to use it, I can simply right-click and delete the block.
And that’s it! We’ve created BrightSmile Dental’s first WhatsApp Journey, using buttons, information messages, and even delays.
