I’m building a Gingery metal shaper. Here in part 1 I am building the ram, downfeed, clapperbox and the toolholder. The unit from the book is inch, I work with metric so I had to convert inch to metric, normally you have to multiply by 25.4 but then you get some odd numbers like: 3/8 inch times 25.4 gives me 9,525 mm. So I decided to make the machine a little bigger and multiplied it by 32: 3/8 inch times 32 gives me 12 mm. So the machine is almost 1/3 bigger, even better so.
