Maritime is one of the most strategic industries for Singapore. Leveraging on the recommendation of the Economic Strategies Committee to establish “a vibrant and distinctive global city – open and diverse, the best place to grow and reach out to a rising Asia, and a home that provides an outstanding quality of life for our people,” PIER71, a programme by MPA and NUS Enterprise is looking at how Singapore may become a global hub for maritime innovation and the centre to spin-off innovations to the region.
This session highlights the innovation opportunities for the PIER71 Smart Port Challenge 2019. MPA and NUS Enterprise invite you to hear the industrial needs of Singapore maritime industries and participate in the PIER71 Smart Port Challenge 2019. Prizes, grant awards, and maritime corporate adoption opportunities are available for participants who make it through the selection process.
This session also features panel insights on how Singapore can realise the idea of building a regional ecosystem for maritime given the fact that government has been proactive in encouraging enterprises to go regional. The discussions will also delve into national economic strategies, government policies, needs of start-ups, and business opportunities to extend the ecosystem in Singapore to the region.
