We talk about choices a lot, but any choice that you make, there's always going to be an upside and a downside. Everything in life is a tradeoff. So when we talk about living a simpler life and you're thinking about it, it's like, well, why wouldn't I want to live a simpler life?

The number one reason is social pressure. Family, friends, society as a whole. It just tries to suck us into that consumer lifestyle. When I was young, one of my I guess you could call him a mentor, somebody that I looked up to when I was a teenager. He said to me, and it's always stuck in my head, is that if you're not making money, you're spending money. And to me that perfectly describes the consumer society lifestyle that we live in today, right?

Goose Pond Hideout is about being self sufficient and independent in an everything is going wrong world. You creating a fun happy lifestyle of freedom. Goose Pond Hideout is the life you have always wanted to live. Your dream lifestyle.

My goal is to look at self-sufficient homestead living in a humorous way. Freedom through laughter. There is so much gloom and doom darkness in the world and I want to put a smile on your face.
