Gavi is a beautiful forest in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala and a part of Periyar Tiger reserve. The main activity of this place is a day package provided by Kerala Forest Development Corporation (KFDC) This package includes Trekking through the forest and boating in Gavi dam. So, today we are going to explore the Gavi with the package arranged by Woodnote Resort.

🚙 Jeep Safari in Gavi

The adventure begins with an early morning jeep safari through the deep forests of Gavi. The route is filled with thick greenery, narrow trails, and the sounds of nature all around.

🐘 If you’re lucky, you might spot elephants, deer, wild boars, or even rare birds. The drive itself is thrilling — bumpy, scenic, and full of surprises.

🌄 Each turn gives you breathtaking views of hills, tea plantations, and hidden waterfalls.

🥾 Trekking Adventure

Next, we head for a guided trekking trail through the forest. It’s a moderately challenging walk, but totally worth it for nature lovers.

You’ll walk through lush green paths, bamboo forests, and viewpoints that overlook mist-covered valleys. The trek is peaceful and gives you a chance to connect deeply with nature — far away from the city rush.

💚 Don’t forget to carry water, good shoes, and a camera — the views are spectacular!

🚤 Boating at Gavi Lake

After the trek, it’s time to relax with a calm boating session on the Gavi lake. The still waters reflect the surrounding greenery, creating a magical atmosphere.

🦆 You’ll often see birds flying across the lake, and the sound of water adds to the serenity. It’s one of the most peaceful experiences in Gavi — perfect for photography and quiet reflection.

💦 Gavi Waterfall

Finally, we visit a beautiful hidden waterfall inside the forest. The short hike to reach it is worth every step — crystal clear water flowing through rocks, surrounded by thick green foliage.

🌿 The waterfall area is ideal for relaxing, taking pictures, or simply enjoying the sound of nature. During monsoon or post-monsoon, the flow is especially strong and mesmerizing.
