As the title says, My neighbor, Glen took me to Mr. Automotive's Classic Car Garage to pick up the '68 Super Bee after the brake work and fluid changes were complete. We decided on about an 8 mile route to give the Bee a little shakedown cruise. There is more that needs to be done, but at least it is safe for the road now.
The remaining things to address are:
-Replace carb or wire up an electric choke
-Fix dash lights
-Replace pinion seal and u-joints
-Replace shift shaft seal
-Check tune up components and replace and tune as required
-Upper and lower control arm bushings
When these things are addressed, I will feel confident that the Super Bee will be ready to drive and enjoy! At some point later, I will consider dealing with the rust and scratch on the body. We took it easy on this cruise because as you all know, this car is new to me, so I want to be careful until I get to know it better. It had also been sitting for most of the last 21 years. The guy I bought it from told me that it had 1300 miles on it since 2004. This video is at normal speed. I know it is on the long side, please listen to and watch as much as you like. I know some of you will watch it all! I hope you enjoyed listening to the music of Glen's Cobras side exhaust while watching the Bee on her maiden voyage!!!
