How to make a solid perfume using tuberose floral wax and some essential oils. This makes enough to fill two solid perfume lockets. Ingredients can be purchased from my friends at http://www.purenature.co.nz - please let them know that Astar sent you!
You will need:
Double boiler
Small mixing jar
Stirring stick & pipette - this makes placing into container easy
½ tsp tuberose floral wax
5ml jojoba or oil of your choice – sweet almond, grapeseed
The blend of essential oils I selected gives up an amazing sultry floral oriental fragrance, but you can adjust to your liking:
16 drops of Tuberose essential oil
8 drops of Sandalwood essential oil
6 drops of Bergamot essential oil
6 drops of Gardenia essential oil
4 drops of Ylang Ylang essential oil
And you will need a locket or solid perfume container with a cavity big enough to hold fragrance once made or a lipstick canister.
Method:
Because the floral wax is really hard to measure out from solid, I simply melted a small amount first over double boiler.
Measure off ½ tsp of the floral wax and place in a small jar and return to double boiler.
Add jojoba oil.
Blend and bring back to a liquid form – if necessary.
Allow to cool slightly before adding in essential oils.
Use the pipette to draw up blend and place down inside cavity of locket cavity.
It will take probably 10 minutes, depending on room temperature to harden up. Allow to rest over night before wearing.
