In this video, we look at average bond enthalpies. First I explain to you what is meant by bond enthalpy. I then discuss what is meant by average bond enthalpies and how we use them to determine the overall enthalpy change for a reaction. Finally, we look at why the final calculated enthalpy change is not the same as standard enthalpy change.
This video is aimed at the UK A Level Chemistry specifications. Students studying International A Level Chemistry will need to check their specification.
