英検に出る！会話表現【1〜11】

① You must be kidding!
意味： 冗談でしょ！

例文：
A: I finished all the homework in one hour.
B: You must be kidding!

間違いやすいポイント：
「kidding＝子どもに関する言葉」と誤解されがち。"joking"のカジュアル版。

似た表現： No way! / Are you serious?

英検レベル： 準2級〜2級

② I’m afraid not.
意味： 残念ながら違います／できません

例文：
A: Can you come to the party tomorrow?
B: I’m afraid not. I have to work.

間違いやすいポイント：
"afraid"＝「怖い」と思いがち。ここでは丁寧な否定。
