Mortarion | Daemon Primarch Lore

One of the most hated and strongest adversaries of the Imperium of Man, Mortarion, is often misunderstood. Many in the Warhammer 40K community consider the Daemon Primarch of Nurgle to be a mustache twirling villain. But there is so much more to the Pale King than that.

Games Workshop got me hooked on the Primarchs decades ago when they started publishing the Index Astartes articles in White Dwarf magazine. And the article on the Death Guard and their Primarch Mortarion will always stick out as one of the best articles in the series. It helped me cultivate a love for all the legions and primarchs of the space marines, from the Horus Heresy era, through the Siege of Terra, and into the current setting of Warhammer 40,000. Those articles got me hooked.

And while some of the things Games Workshop have done with Mortarion ave made it so he's no longer my absolute favorite Primarch, he's still pretty high up there.

So, strap into your hazmat suit and bring your Geiger counter because this one is going to be infectious, like good Warhammer 40K lore should be.
