The "Mengjia Grand Pilgrimage" is the popular name for the Bangka Qingshan Temple Midnight Patrol and Pilgrimage, also known as the Qingshan King Festival. This annual event is a significant religious and cultural festival held in the historic Wanhua (Mengjia/Bangka) district of Taipei, Taiwan.
The festival celebrates the birthday of the Qingshan King (青山王), a folk deity revered for saving the Wanhua area from a deadly plague in earlier times. The event is one of Taipei's most lively religious activities, comparable to the City God's Birthday Celebration and Baosheng Cultural Festival.
On the 20th and 21st days of the lunar tenth month, the Qingshan King and his retinue conduct "unannounced visits" or night patrols (known as Yèjiān Chūxún in Mandarin) around the district to inspect homes, eliminate evil spirits, and bring good luck to residents.
