Daughters. I have two of them. I tell them everyday to be tough, rough and brave. "Be presidential, not residential," I say. When I look into their eyes, I see endless potential. But the gender pay gap won't fully close during their lifetime and they live in a world where women in Africa spend 40 billion hours a year walking to get water. One of my favorite singers, Lissie, is fighting to change all of this. It was my honor to welcome her into our CNN L.A. studio to talk about female empowerment and her partnership with charity: water. She also performed an incredible, acoustic version of her new single, "Daughters." I wrote and produced the following for CNNi.
