EMOTIONAL LABOR AND DELIVERY | LIVE BIRTH VLOG | BABY GOES TO NICU | Angelia Layton

Hi guys!! Here is my 14 hour Labor and Delivery vlog I promised. This was the most incredible day of my life and I am so excited to share it with you all. I’m so sorry it took so long to get this up, but being a first time mom has been amazing and I’ve really been soaking it all in these past two months. Ledgy is now 7 weeks old!

My plan was to have Ledger ALL natural. I wanted to wait until he came on his own, and I was completely against epidurals and didn’t want to take any kind of drugs.

Ledger was due January 24. So when his due date came and went I was so discouraged.. I was almost 42 weeks along when my doctor suggested we get induced ASAP for the baby’s safety. It wasn’t my original plan but it was the best option at that point and we decided to get induced February 3, hoping he would come on his own before then so we could go with our original birth plan.

I tried sooo hard to go without an epidural, but let me just say.. I have NEVER felt pain like that in my life. You can’t tell in the video how bad it was because Dillon didn’t film during my contractions because it was that intense. I am all for epidurals now, and applaud those mommas who can do it natural. Seriously.

The last hour of labor, I developed a fever of 101 and my doctor automatically told us Ledger had to go to the NICU for possible infection. So 30 minutes after he was born they took him and I didn’t get to see him for 3 hours after that. It was awful. We had to stay in there for 36 hours to be monitored, and sure enough he was just fine and so healthy. I think I got the fever because pushing is exhausting, I was throwing up and I hadn’t ate much that whole day. But who really knows. I’m just so glad everything was okay and we were able to take him home that Sunday.

This was the most amazing day of my life, and I am so excited to share it with you guys. Thank you for following my journey and helping me along the way. Serioulsy. Motherhood is the most amazing thing in the world & I can’t wait to share more of it with you all.
