How to restrict journal posting/submit for approval if no support attachment?

The requirement from business, is to make attachment mandatory field with Journal Batch.
Kindly advise how can this be accomplished.


Solution
Attachments cannot be set as required, this is a limitation at this point. You can customize them to 'show as required', which though, will not impose required field validation (this option just adds an asterisk but does not enforce validation)

Workaround
================
1. Login into Fusion Applications
2. Enable Sandbox and using Page Composer you can make the attachments as Mandatory.

Also, if Approvals are enabled for the Journals then you can create a rule to Auto reject the journal batches without attachments.

We already have an Enhancement Request (ER) logged Enh 20754162 - MAKE JOURNAL ATTACHMENT OPTIONAL/MANDATORY FOR A JOURNAL SOURCE. with Oracle Development. This ER will be reviewed and evaluated by Product Development and will remain open until it is either incorporated into the product in future releases or deemed not feasible. All valid and triaged enhancements are presented to Oracle User Groups.

This process can occur over an extended period of time.



How to send for approval if attachments are added and auto reject if attachments are not added

Use Task.payload.addAttachmentStatus.toUpperCase() attribute to take care of the attachment condition

Or like:

Task.payload.addAttachmentStatus.toUpperCase() isn't "SUCCESS"



In 23B, defaulted SRC for new customer,It will be the default rule configuration option for Payables Invoice Approval Workflow and Journal Approval Workflow.
