Train With Truck Frames Stacked Up High Crosses Long Railroad Bridge Over The Great Miami River. Look How High They Stack Them! Dangerous Narrow Railroad Overpass Over Busy Road With CSX Mixed Freight Train. Train Passes Old Train Station In The Troy Railroad Wye & Railroad Crossing With Auto Racks Train. 4 Trains In Troy, Ohio, USA.
The first train is seen going through the city of Troy and crossing the Great Miami River on a steel deck girder bridge. Look how many truck frames they can stack up on a single freight car! Ten high and four stacks per car. You can see a little of the reflection of the northbound train in the water.
Next, I went to the other side of the bridge to a railroad crossing that I have never filmed. A southbound auto racks train is seen cruising past at track speed. It is believed that this train was pulled by a single locomotive! I heard the train approaching on 160.230 so I went to the gas station by the crossing. I needed gas so I got gas and then filmed the train. It worked out perfectly.
The next train is a northbound train crossing a bridge overpass over the busy highway below. I had a viewer request that I film this overpass. Guess what. We had 2 soccer games less than a mile south of this bridge. Right after the last game ended I heard a train call out a signal in Vandalia. I hurried over to the bridge and beat it by at least fifteen minutes. The two lane road comes to one lane at the overpass and has an S curve. There are stop signs at both ends and cars have to take turns.
The 4th train is a northbound mixed freight in the city of Troy passing an old Baltimore And Ohio Railroad color position signal that is still in use. We also see an old train station here that sits in the wye. The spur coming off by the station goes a few miles to a grain elevator but is rarely used. I was told that CSX told the grain elevator that if they don't use the spur more the switch to the spur would be removed. I have never seen this track used. The train station is used by the CSX maintenance of way crews.
We also see inside the motel that I stayed at in Tipp City. There is also a few short clips of the soccer games that Lillia played here. One clip shows a girl getting a yellow card for cursing.
