Dr. Lilyana Amezcua is Associate Professor of Neurology and the Division Chief for Neuroimmunology and Multiple Sclerosis at the University of Southern California. She spearheaded the collaborative research consortium: Alliance for Research in Hispanic Multiple Sclerosis, which is an initiative aimed at better-defining health disparities, by examining modifiable (social determinants of health and environmental) from non-modifiable genetic factors involved in disease severity and progression specific to the Hispanic and Latino population affected with Multiple Sclerosis. She serves as Vice President of the Society for Equity Neuroscience.
