Nazi Germany stormed through Europe at the beginning of World War 2 but after the Normandy Landings, things escalated quickly and Germans lost grand at a rapid pace. The struggle for the Netherlands was also a bloody one and The Forgotten Battle (De slag om de Schelde) does a good job depicting it.

In this scene, we see a local being bullied by retreating German soldiers. His revenge cost multiple Germans their lives...

September 1944. The Allies captured the port of Antwerp but the Germans still controlled the Scheldt estuary, preventing supplies from reaching Antwerp and the Allied forces. Walcheren Island is key to the German defense. Operation Market Garden is launched, hoping to penetrate directly into Germany via Arnhem in Holland.
