Kapag Single Dad, Babaero? Kapag Married Mom, Walang Freedom? | Usap Tayo | Smart Parenting
We put married and single parents together in one room to hash out common misconceptions and stigma attached to each parenting status: are single dads irresponsible, and single moms desperate for love? Are married parents having less freedom, and even less "sexy time"?
Members of the Smart Parenting Mom and Dad Squads share their honest points of view plus parenting and marriage tips, and created a rather insightful conversation that every parent should hear.
Here are the highlights:
00:15 - meet the single and married parents who are part of this conversation, and what they think are the most unfair misconceptions about
being single or married parents.
02:53 - Parents react to the Solo Parent Act: its benefits and limitations. They also talked about the solo parent leave
03:48 - The group discusses the stigma that solo dads are womanizers and solo moms are desperate housewives. On the other hand, married parents gets a better social perception.
05:13 - The parents talk about the challenges of supporting their children in a married family and in a single household. Quotable quotes like, "God will provide," and "'Pag may raket, may budget" are our favorite parts.
06:10 - The parents define what personal freedom looks like within a marriage, and as solo parents.
07:00 - The conversation becomes more interesting when married parents ask single parents, "Would you date your ex again?"

09:14 - The married parents also discuss how they deal with temptations
09:41- Each parent also shares his or her best advice or message to another parent like him or her.
11:34 - Parents share their realizations after the Usap Tayo session, and agree that we all should not be quick to judge another parent, and instead support each other.
